Job Overview:
A prominent law firm is seeking an Associate Attorney to join its Public Finance practice in the Atlanta office. This is a fantastic opportunity for an attorney with experience in commercial real estate and finance transactions who seeks to work closely with seasoned partners. Duties:

  • Draft loan documents and review title and survey materials.
  • Coordinate real estate and finance closings.
  • Review, draft, and manage loan and real estate-related due diligence.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate leases, amendments, and purchase/sale agreements.
  • Conduct real estate and lending closings, ensuring proper approvals are in place before transactions are executed.
  • Review and draft organizational documents.
  • Interpret laws, rulings, and regulations related to real estate and finance transactions.
  • Collaborate with partners, associates, and support staff to meet client goals.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 2 years experience working with state and local governments, investment banks and institutional lenders, or other providers of capital in connection with tax-exempt financings and/or commercial real estate finance transactions required
  • Knowledge of state and federal laws related to the ownership and sale of real property.
  • Proficiency in real estate finance and asset-based finance transactions.
  • Understanding of various business entities and their structures.
  • Ability to manage multiple matters effectively and meet deadlines.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Excellent communication skills (both oral and written).
  • Ability to work independently while thriving in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a proactive work ethic.
  • Ability to conduct title and survey reviews and other real estate/finance diligence tasks.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Excellent academic record preferred.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice in Georgia, or eligible to be admitted within the first year of employment.

Skills:

  • Strong organizational and matter management skills.
  • Ability to analyze complex legal issues and apply sound judgment.
  • Exceptional research, writing, and negotiation skills.
  • Proficiency in drafting and reviewing legal documents related to public finance and real estate transactions.
