Job Overview: A law firm seeks a dedicated Lead Immigration Attorney to join its growing team in Houston, TX. Duties:

  • Handle a variety of immigration cases, including removal defense, family-based petitions, asylum, and employment-based immigration.
  • Represent clients in immigration court and other legal proceedings.
  • Conduct client consultations and develop case strategies.
  • Prepare and review legal documents, petitions, and applications for submission to relevant agencies.
  • Stay up-to-date on immigration laws, policies, and legal trends to provide informed guidance to clients.
  • Collaborate with legal teams to ensure the best outcomes for clients.
  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior attorneys and support staff.
  • Engage with clients to understand their needs and provide personalized legal solutions.

Requirements:

  • Active U.S. law license (jurisdiction does not matter).
  • Strong desire to help clients achieve their immigration goals.
  • Excellent communication and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Commitment to ethical and professional standards.
  • Willingness to relocate to Houston, TX, if not currently residing in the area.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in good standing in any U.S. state.

Skills:

  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred (other languages are a plus).
  • Excellent interpersonal skills for working with clients from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to handle multiple cases efficiently and meet deadlines.
  • Leadership skills and experience in mentoring junior attorneys.
