Job Title: Commercial Real Estate Attorney

Job Overview:
A prominent law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an experienced attorney for their Commercial Real Estate Practice Group. This position involves representing a range of clients in building and managing their real estate portfolios, commercial developments, and business ventures. The ideal candidate will have expertise in multiple aspects of commercial real estate law.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in transactions involving the acquisition, sale, and development of commercial real estate.
  • Handle matters related to commercial leases, subleases, easements, declarations, condominiums, and title issues.
  • Negotiate and draft commercial loan agreements and related documentation.
  • Guide on land use matters, including rezoning, condemnation, and related legal issues.
  • Advise on tax-related real estate matters, including 1031 exchanges and opportunity zones.
  • Draft joint venture agreements and other similar legal documents.

Requirements:

  • 4-10 years of experience in commercial real estate law is preferred.
  • Candidates with significant residential real estate experience, particularly in title review and negotiation of title commitments, may also be considered.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in North Carolina.
  • Licensure in South Carolina is considered an advantage.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and drafting abilities, especially in real estate transactions.
  • Knowledge of land use, zoning, and tax regulations as they relate to real estate.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex transactions and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent client communication and advisory skills.
