Job Overview
A prominent law firm is seeking an experienced and motivated attorney to join their First-Party Coverage practice. This role is focused on insurance coverage litigation, including handling first-party property and bad faith claims, and will involve both state and federal court matters. The firm offers a collaborative work environment, with opportunities for career development and mentoring from senior attorneys.

Duties

  • Manage and litigate first-party property insurance cases, including bad faith and insurance coverage disputes.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Take and defend depositions, as well as manage all aspects of discovery.
  • Represent clients in court appearances and trials.
  • Collaborate with colleagues across multiple offices to strategize and drive case outcomes.
  • Develop and maintain client relationships through proactive communication and exceptional service.

Requirements

  • Admission and good standing with the Illinois Bar are required; additional state admissions are a plus.
  • Proven experience in first-party property insurance coverage and bad-faith litigation.
  • Strong academic background with excellent research, writing, and communication skills.
  • Practical experience in case management, including drafting legal documents and handling court appearances.
  • Experience in both state and federal courts is preferred.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Admission to the Illinois Bar (additional state bar admissions are advantageous).

  • Excellent research and analytical abilities.
  • Ability to manage complex cases and client relationships effectively.
