A law firm in Baltimore, MD, is seeking an Attorney with 1-6 years of experience, particularly in Workers' Compensation cases in Maryland (MD) and the District of Columbia (DC). The successful candidate will handle Workers' Compensation cases and will have access to a comprehensive benefits package.

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of Workers' Compensation cases in Maryland and the District of Columbia
  • Conduct client consultations and assess the merits of Workers' Compensation claims
  • Prepare and file legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and appeals
  • Represent clients at Workers' Compensation hearings and other proceedings
  • Negotiate settlements with insurance companies and opposing counsel
  • Communicate effectively with clients, medical providers, and other relevant parties
  • Stay updated on changes in Workers' Compensation laws and regulations
  • Provide legal advice and guidance to clients throughout the claims process
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and legal staff on case strategies and tactics

Requirements:

  • 1-6 years of experience practicing law, preferably with a focus on Workers' Compensation cases
  • Admission to the Maryland State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar, or willingness to become admitted
  • Strong understanding of Maryland and District of Columbia Workers' Compensation laws and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
  • Detail-oriented approach and strong organizational skills

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to the Maryland State Bar and the District of Columbia Bar, or eligibility for admission by waiver

  • Proficiency in Workers' Compensation laws and procedures in Maryland and the District of Columbia
  • Strong negotiation and advocacy skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities
