A law firm seeks a motivated Junior Attorney to join its growing team in Albuquerque, NM. This exciting opportunity is ideal for a recent law school graduate or early-career attorney looking to expand their expertise in personal injury law. The firm is committed to providing compassionate and effective legal representation, with an emphasis on maximizing compensation for clients. As a Junior Attorney, you will work closely with a lead attorney, gaining hands-on experience in litigation, negotiation, and case management in a supportive, growth-focused environment.

Duties:

  • Attend daily and weekly team meetings to stay aligned on case progress and firm goals.
  • Review and approve correspondence drafted by case managers and paralegals.
  • Meet with clients to evaluate and assess representation cases.
  • Conduct investigations, including assessing the need for further inquiries and determining the application of UM/UIM coverage.
  • Prepare cases for settlement negotiations or trial, including drafting pleadings, discovery responses, and case evaluation.
  • Engage in negotiations with adjusters, preparing cases for mediation as necessary.
  • Ensure smooth case transitions from pre-litigation to litigation, maintaining efficient case management.
  • Collaborate with the team to meet key performance indicators (KPIs), including settlement goals and client satisfaction rates.
  • Actively contribute to a positive client experience with a focus on compassion and communication.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate and licensed or eligible to practice law in New Mexico.
  • Ability to relocate to Albuquerque, NM (relocation assistance offered).
  • Prior experience in personal injury law is not required, though a strong interest in the field is essential.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic background with a focus on litigation or personal injury law.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in New Mexico, or eligibility to become licensed.

Skills:

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients, adjusters, and colleagues.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases.
  • Compassionate client service, with a focus on providing value and support throughout the legal process.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team structure.
  • Knowledge of personal injury law, litigation, and case management processes is a plus but not required.
