Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm is seeking an experienced IP Litigation Associate Attorney to join their Intellectual Property Group in one of their Ohio offices (Cleveland, Columbus, or Cincinnati). The ideal candidate will have 2-7 years of experience handling patent litigation, including preparing and arguing motions, taking depositions, managing complex discovery, and preparing for trial. Strong research, analytical, oral, and written communication skills are essential, as is the ability to thrive in a collaborative team environment.

Location:

Duties:

  • Manage patent litigation cases, including drafting and arguing motions in court.
  • Take and defend depositions, and handle complex discovery issues.
  • Assist in preparing for trial, including case strategy, brief preparation, and other litigation tasks.
  • Perform legal research and provide analysis of relevant case law and precedents in patent law.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys, clients, and experts to develop litigation strategies.
  • Communicate regularly with clients regarding the progress of their cases and offer strategic legal guidance.
  • Participate in settlement negotiations and alternative dispute resolution processes when applicable.
  • Keep current on developments in patent law and emerging trends in intellectual property litigation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • 2-7 years of experience in patent litigation.
  • Admission to the Ohio State Bar or eligibility for admission.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience preparing and arguing motions, managing discovery, and preparing for trial.
  • Strong analytical and research abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented, fast-paced environment.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
