Job Overview

A law firm seeks a highly motivated and detail-oriented associate attorney to join its Coral Gables office. This boutique practice provides comprehensive litigation and transactional legal services, including serving as general corporate counsel for a variety of clients across industries. The firm offers a collaborative environment, substantive mentorship, and opportunities for hands-on experience in both litigation and transactional law.

Duties

Litigation Responsibilities:

  • Conduct thorough legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents.
  • Participate in client strategy sessions and assist in case preparation for state and federal courts.
  • Attend and argue hearings, with mentorship to develop courtroom advocacy skills.
  • Handle diverse business litigation matters, including corporate disputes, with a bespoke approach to each case.

Transactional and Corporate Responsibilities:

  • Draft corporate governance documents such as bylaws, operating agreements, and resolutions.
  • Prepare and review a range of transactional agreements, including NDAs, LOIs/MOUs, purchase agreements, and distribution contracts.
  • Advise clients from various industries, including regulated sectors like healthcare and consumer financial services.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Engage in substantial client communication and case strategy discussions.
  • Receive direct feedback and mentorship from the supervising partner to improve skills and performance.

Requirements

  • 0-2 years of experience as an attorney, with an interest in diverse litigation and corporate matters.
  • Strong legal research and drafting abilities.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for client interactions.
  • A conscientious and dedicated approach to delivering high-quality work.
  • Proficiency in Spanish is preferred but not required.

Education

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Florida.
