Job Overview: A law firm seeks a driven and detail-oriented Real Estate & Land Use Associate Attorney to join its growing team in Parsippany, NJ. The ideal candidate will have at least 2 years of experience in handling complex land use and zoning matters, particularly in New Jersey. Experience in municipal planning and zoning board applications, as well as a background in affordable housing or commercial real estate transactions, would be beneficial. Duties:

  • Represent clients in land use and zoning matters, including municipal and county planning board and zoning board applications.
  • Participate in hearings and provide legal guidance on zoning-related issues.
  • Handle real estate transactions such as acquisitions, sales, leasing, and financing, particularly in commercial real estate.
  • Assist with affordable housing projects and other related legal issues.
  • Collaborate with a team of attorneys on various real estate matters, offering creative solutions to clients.
  • Provide legal counsel to a diverse group of clients, including developers, institutional investors, landlords, and commercial enterprises.

Requirements:

  • At least 2 years of experience in land use and zoning law.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Proven ability to manage client relationships and work directly with clients.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with a creative approach to legal challenges.
  • Active and good-standing New Jersey bar admission is required.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • New Jersey Bar admission in good standing is required.

Skills:

  • Expertise in land use and zoning regulations, particularly within New Jersey.
  • Strong knowledge of real estate transactions, including leasing, acquisition, and financing.
  • Excellent legal writing, research, and drafting abilities.
