Asset Management Associate Attorney

Job Overview: A law firm in New York City, NY, is seeking an Asset Management Associate Attorney to assist with executing various secondary fund transactions, including managing the transfer process for large investment fund portfolios. The role requires strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Duties:

• Assist in executing secondary fund transactions, including due diligence, drafting transaction documents, and managing closing processes.
• Coordinate and manage the transfer process for large investment fund portfolios.
• Conduct legal research and analysis related to asset management and investment fund regulations.
• Communicate effectively with clients, counterparties, and internal teams to facilitate smooth transaction processes.
• Draft and review contracts, agreements, and other legal documents related to asset management transactions.
• Provide support and assistance to senior attorneys in complex asset management matters.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the New York State Bar (active and in good standing).
• Experience in asset management, investment funds, or corporate transactional law preferred.
• Proven experience handling transactional matters related to secondary fund transactions is highly desirable.
• Strong organizational skills with the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in work product.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.

Certifications (Preferred):

• Certification in Securities Regulation or related field.
