Job Overview:
An established law firm is seeking a Litigation Associate Attorney to join its Miami office. The position is open to attorneys in the 2020-2021 class years with substantial commercial litigation experience. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in commercial litigation, excellent research and advocacy skills, and fluency in Spanish. This is a unique opportunity to join a prominent media and entertainment litigation practice in South Florida, working on high-profile cases in a team-oriented, collegial environment. Associates are encouraged to take on responsibility and develop client relationships while receiving mentorship from senior attorneys.

Location:

  • Miami, FL

Duties:

  • Manage and assist with commercial litigation matters, including drafting pleadings, motions, and other legal documents.
  • Represent clients in hearings, depositions, and court appearances.
  • Conduct legal research and provide strategic advice on litigation matters.
  • Participate in trial preparation, including witness preparation and case strategy.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and clients to develop case strategies.
  • Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and legal advice.
  • Take on increasing responsibilities, including client relationship development and business generation.
  • Contribute to the firm’s media and entertainment litigation practice, with opportunities to work on high-profile cases.

Requirements:

  • J.D. from a top-tier law school.
  • Florida Bar admission (or eligibility for admission).
  • 1-2 years of experience in commercial litigation, preferably at a law firm.
  • Fluency in Spanish is highly preferred.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • A passion for litigation and a commitment to client service.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Florida State Bar (or eligibility for admission).
  • Fluency in Spanish preferred.

Skills:

  • Strong commercial litigation experience, including motion practice, depositions, and discovery.
  • Excellent legal writing and research skills.
  • Fluency in Spanish is a key asset.
  • Strong communication and advocacy skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
