A law firm seeks a skilled Brief Writing/Appellate Attorney to join its team in Troy, MI. This full-time position focuses primarily on the No-Fault docket and offers a hybrid work environment. The ideal candidate will be responsible for preparing and arguing appeals, crafting complex pleadings, and contributing to the firm’s reputation for excellence in personal injury and No-Fault litigation.

Duties:

  • Prepare and argue appeals from start to finish, ensuring comprehensive legal analysis and argumentation.
  • Draft and respond to summary disposition motions and other complex legal documents.
  • Provide coverage for Circuit Court motions and depositions as needed.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to uphold the firm’s high standards of writing and research.
  • Engage in client meetings and networking opportunities as required.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Proven experience in appellate writing and research, with strong skills in drafting legal briefs.
  • Experience in federal court is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to articulate complex legal concepts effectively.

Education:

  • JD from an accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Michigan.

Skills:

  • Exceptional writing and analytical abilities, particularly in appellate advocacy.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Capacity to work independently and manage multiple cases effectively.
