Associate Attorney Liability Defense

A law firm seeks a dedicated and motivated Associate Attorney to join its liability defense practice in Somerville, NJ. This hybrid position is ideal for a candidate with 3+ years of experience in auto and premises liability defense litigation. The successful candidate will have courtroom experience, including motion practice and depositions, and will be expected to manage cases efficiently while maintaining high standards of legal writing and client service. Duties:

• Represent clients in auto and premises liability defense litigation, managing cases from start to finish.
• Handle all aspects of defense litigation, including preparing for and attending court hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Draft, review, and revise legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and discovery responses.
• Conduct legal research to support case strategies and litigation planning.
• Maintain accurate case files and documentation, ensuring that all deadlines and procedural requirements are met.
• Communicate effectively with clients, providing regular updates on case progress and advising on legal options.
• Collaborate with senior attorneys and colleagues to develop case strategies and achieve favorable outcomes for clients.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 3 years of experience in auto and premises liability defense litigation.
• Proven courtroom experience, including motion practice and depositions.
• Strong writing skills, with the ability to draft legal documents with precision and clarity.
• Highly organized with strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple cases effectively.
• Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work independently while also thriving in a team-oriented setting.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership in the New Jersey State Bar.
