A law firm seeks a dedicated and licensed attorney based in Kentucky to join its team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years of substantive legal experience and an additional license to practice in one or more of the following states: Indiana, North Carolina, Pennsylvania, Ohio, Virginia, or West Virginia. Duties:

  • Independently manage cases from initiation through to resolution.
  • Develop and implement effective strategies to achieve favorable outcomes based on thorough case analysis and ongoing investigations.
  • Engage in substantive communications with courts, administrative bodies, financial institutions, and clients.
  • Draft various legal documents, including pleadings, motions, briefs, appeals, agreements, and security instruments.
  • Attend and represent clients at hearings and trials.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school.
  • Minimum of 3 years of substantive legal experience.
  • Active license to practice law in Kentucky, with additional licensure in one or more specified states preferred.
  • Prior experience in one or more of these areas is preferred: Medicaid eligibility and reimbursement, administrative appeals, civil litigation, probate and estate claims, and guardianships.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited institution.

Certifications:

  • Current and active membership in the Kentucky State Bar, with additional licensure preferred.

Skills:

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively in a remote team setting.
  • High levels of energy, discipline, and self-motivation, suitable for a home office environment.
  • Strong organizational and time management capabilities.
  • Persistent and resourceful in problem-solving and legal analysis.
  • Confidence to take initiative and maintain accountability for case outcomes.
  • Proficient with technology, including familiarity with Mac systems, Microsoft Office 365, Adobe Acrobat, and timekeeping software.
