Venture Capital And Emerging Companies Associate Attorney

Job Overview:

A law firm is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Venture Capital and Emerging Companies Associate Attorney to join its dynamic team in Los Angeles, CA. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in the venture capital industry and be able to lead deal teams and manage transactions from inception through closing. This role requires excellent communication, problem-solving, client-facing skills, and the ability to work collaboratively across multidisciplinary teams.

Job Duties:

• Lead deal teams and manage transactions from inception through closing
• Advise clients on venture capital investments, mergers and acquisitions, and other corporate transactions
• Conduct due diligence and prepare, review, and negotiate transaction documents
• Provide strategic legal and business advice to emerging companies and investors
• Develop and maintain strong client relationships, acting as a primary point of contact
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams across various practice areas within the firm
• Perform financial modeling, including cap tables and exit waterfall analysis
• Stay current with industry trends and regulatory developments impacting venture capital and emerging companies

Requirements:

• Minimum of 4 years of solid venture capital industry experience
• Demonstrated ability to lead deal teams and manage transactions from start to finish
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Strong client-facing skills with the ability to interact directly with clients
• Effective and efficient problem-solving capabilities, with the ability to work independently and proactively
• Ability to develop creative solutions to meet client and team needs
• Excellent team player skills, with the flexibility to engage and collaborate across the firm’s capabilities and practice areas
• Advanced knowledge of Excel, including cap table, exit waterfall, and other financial modeling tools
• Bar membership in good standing in California

Education and Certifications:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
• Bar membership in good standing in California
