A law firm is seeking a Junior-Level Energy Associate Attorney for its Albany, NY office.

Job Overview:

The Junior-Level Energy Associate Attorney will support the firm's energy practice with a focus on regulatory matters and transactional work. The ideal candidate will have 1-3 years of experience, excellent academic credentials, and strong communication and client service skills.

Duties:

  • Conduct legal research and draft memoranda on energy-related regulatory issues.
  • Assist in drafting and negotiating energy-related agreements, including power purchase agreements, leases, and permits.
  • Participate in due diligence activities for energy project transactions.
  • Support senior attorneys in client meetings, hearings, and negotiations.
  • Assist in the preparation of regulatory filings and compliance documentation.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
  • 1-3 years of relevant experience in energy law preferred.
  • Excellent academic credentials, including a strong academic record.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to meet deadlines.

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the New York State Bar.
