Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in insurance defense cases, including personal injury, property damage, and liability claims.
  • Draft, review, and file legal documents such as pleadings, motions, and discovery requests.
  • Conduct legal research to support case strategies and stay current with relevant laws and regulations.
  • Participate in depositions, mediations, and court appearances.
  • Provide clients with legal advice and strategy, ensuring they are well informed about their case status and options.
  • Negotiate settlements with opposing counsel and insurance companies when appropriate.
  • Prepare for and manage trial cases, including developing case strategy, preparing witnesses, and presenting evidence.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and support staff to ensure efficient case management.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation and case records.

Requirements:

  • 2-7 years of experience in insurance defense or related legal field.
  • Strong understanding of insurance law and defense litigation processes.
  • Excellent legal research, writing, and analytical skills.
  • Effective negotiation and communication abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar of Texas, in good standing.
  • Additional certifications in insurance law or related fields are a plus.
