Job Overview:

A prominent law firm in Orange, CA is currently seeking an experienced Immigration Attorney to join their growing team. As an Associate Immigration Attorney, you will be responsible for managing a diverse caseload, advising clients on immigration matters, and representing clients in a variety of immigration proceedings. Duties:

  • Advise clients on immigration-related matters and develop strategic legal solutions.
  • Represent clients in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Handle a variety of immigration cases, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions.
  • Manage a caseload, ensuring timely and accurate case preparation and submission.
  • Visit detention centers to conduct client intakes and assess cases for legal strategy.
  • Review, prepare, and file immigration applications and petitions with various government agencies.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with prospective clients for consultations and determine appropriate immigration strategies.
  • Prepare clients and witnesses for court hearings or USCIS interviews.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs and motions for various immigration cases.
  • Provide legal analysis to identify potential benefits and outcomes for clients.

Requirements:

  • 1-4 years of experience in immigration law.
  • Strong case management skills and ability to handle a high volume of cases.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) is preferred.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and colleagues.
  • Proven ability to effectively represent clients in immigration matters.
  • Experience with family-based immigration, humanitarian cases, EOIR (Executive Office for Immigration Review), detained clients, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with case management software is a plus.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the State Bar (California preferred).

Certifications:

  • Active and valid State Bar membership.

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law and procedures.
  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with excellent organizational and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative legal team.
  • Knowledge of immigration law updates and the ability to interpret complex legal matters.
