Civil Litigation Attorney

A law firm seeks a motivated and skilled Civil Litigation Attorney to join its practice in Topeka, KS. This is a full-time role offering an excellent opportunity for recent graduates to grow their careers in civil litigation. The firm handles a wide range of cases, from automobile negligence and product liability to commercial contracts and consumer collection matters. This position offers hands-on experience, exposure to innovative legal technology, and the support of a large, experienced team.

Duties:

• Represent clients in various civil litigation matters, including automobile negligence, product liability, and commercial contracts.
• Prepare legal documentation such as pleadings, motions, and discovery materials.
• Attend hearings and court proceedings throughout the state.
• Collaborate with team members to manage and resolve cases efficiently.
• Utilize proprietary software to streamline case management and focus on high-value legal work.
• Work closely with senior attorneys to develop case strategies and gain in-depth litigation experience.

Requirements:

• Experience or strong interest in civil litigation.
• Ability to handle a diverse caseload and manage multiple tasks concurrently.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including the ability to draft legal documents and present arguments effectively.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active Kansas Bar license is required.
• Missouri Bar license is a plus.
