Litigation Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established, full-service law firm in Pittsburgh, PA is seeking a skilled Litigation Attorney with 3–6 years of experience to join its Litigation Practice Group. This role involves representing clients in a broad range of general and complex litigation matters, including commercial disputes, employment issues, municipal litigation, and tort defense. The ideal candidate will have courtroom experience, excellent legal writing skills, and the ability to handle litigation matters from inception through resolution while working within a collaborative legal team.

Location:

• Pittsburgh, PA

Duties:

• Represent clients in various legal proceedings including depositions, hearings, and trials

• Handle litigation matters from initial case development to resolution

• Draft pleadings, briefs, motions, stipulations, and position statements

• Conduct legal research on procedural and substantive legal issues

• Take and defend depositions, manage discovery, and prepare for trial

• Advise clients on legal strategies, litigation risks, and proactive policy development

• Participate in internal practice group meetings and professional development activities

• Collaborate with attorneys across departments to serve a diverse client base

• Contribute to firm publications and attend networking events, CLEs, and speaking engagements

Requirements:

• 3–6 years of general litigation experience, including courtroom and trial exposure

• Knowledge of state, federal, and local laws and litigation procedures

• Ability to handle multiple matters in a fast-paced legal environment

• Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism when interacting with clients and colleagues

• Strong project management and organizational skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• Active license to practice law in Pennsylvania, in good standing

Skills:

• Strong legal writing and oral advocacy skills

• Proficient in legal research using Westlaw, LexisNexis, and other platforms

• Ability to analyze complex legal matters and provide strategic advice

• Collaborative mindset with ability to lead and work within teams
