A law firm in Wichita is seeking an Estate Planning Associate Attorney to join their team. The Estate Planning Associate Attorney will be responsible for providing high-quality legal services to clients in matters related to estate planning. This role requires expertise in drafting various estate planning documents, staying updated on relevant laws and regulations, and collaborating with colleagues to ensure client satisfaction.

 

Duties:

  • Maintain membership in the Kansas State Bar and fulfill Continuing Legal Education requirements annually.
  • Adhere to ethical requirements outlined by the Rules of Professional Conduct of the State of Kansas and comply with the Firm’s professional liability insurer's requirements.
  • Provide timely, high-quality legal services and exceptional client support.
  • Draft a range of estate planning documents, such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, advance directives, and beneficiary designation forms, ensuring accuracy and compliance with laws and regulations.
  • Stay abreast of changes in estate planning laws and regulations through legal research and ensure the provision of up-to-date legal advice to clients.
  • Assist in trust and estate administration tasks, including asset transfers, beneficiary distributions, probate proceedings, and fiduciary duties, collaborating with paralegals and support staff for efficiency.
  • Regularly advise and communicate with clients regarding their matter's status.
  • Collaborate with senior attorneys and partners to strategize complex estate planning cases and contribute to the firm's success.

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctorate Degree and membership in the Kansas State Bar.
  • 3-5 years of experience in Estate Planning preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of estate planning principles, tax laws, and probate procedures.
  • Excellent drafting skills with meticulous attention to detail.
  • Interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients, attorneys, and staff.

 

Education & Certifications:

  • Juris Doctorate Degree
  • Membership in the Kansas State Bar

 

Skills:

  • Strong knowledge of estate planning principles, tax laws, and probate procedures
  • Excellent drafting skills with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Interpersonal skills for effective communication with clients, attorneys, and staff
