Job Overview A reputable law firm is seeking an experienced associate to join its Mass Torts and Industry-Wide Litigation team with a specific focus on asbestos litigation. The role will involve working collaboratively with colleagues across multiple offices and representing asbestos defendants in state and federal courts throughout the country. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in toxic torts, particularly asbestos defense, and will play a key role in the firm's growing litigation practice.LocationBoston, MADutiesTake and defend depositions regularly.Conduct legal research and collaborate with senior attorneys to develop defense strategies.Navigate claims through resolution by dismissal, settlement, motion practice, or trial.Draft legal memoranda, pleadings, motions, and other related documents.Represent clients during courtroom appearances.Coordinate with co-counsel across multiple jurisdictions.RequirementsMinimum of 2 years of deposition and courtroom experience in toxic tort matters; preference for asbestos defense experience.Admission to the New York Bar required.Admission to Connecticut, Massachusetts, and/or New Jersey Bar preferred (or ability to waive into NJ).Familiarity with video conferencing platforms (Zoom, MS Teams) for depositions, court conferences, and meetings.Ability to travel for in-person depositions and court conferences, including overnight travel when necessary.Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills.Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.High organizational skills with the ability to prioritize competing tasks.Demonstrated ability to quickly absorb and process new information.Strong professional demeanor, with a cooperative and flexible attitude.Military experience is a plus.EducationJuris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.CertificationsAdmission to the New York Bar required.Admission to the Connecticut, Massachusetts, and/or New Jersey Bar preferred (or ability to waive into NJ).SkillsProficiency in asbestos defense litigation and toxic tort matters.Excellent deposition and courtroom experience.Strong research, writing, and communication skills.Ability to use video conferencing tools (Zoom, MS Teams).Strong organizational and time management skills.Collaborative team player with the ability to work independently.BenefitsComprehensive benefits package.Hybrid remote work option in select locations.Opportunities for professional development and career growth.
