Job Overview: A law firm in Charlotte, NC, is seeking an E-Discovery Attorney to manage the discovery process from preservation through review and production, including creating privilege logs. The ideal candidate will have substantial experience in e-discovery, practical litigation experience, and proficiency with Relativity.

Duties:

  • Manage discovery from start to finish, including preservation, review, production, and privilege logs.
  • Advise clients on preservation issues and assist with implementing holds.
  • Interview witnesses to assess the scope and volume of documents to collect.
  • Evaluate discovery requests and objections.
  • Work with the case team to determine the proper and proportional scope of discovery.
  • Manage the collection, review, and production of documents.
  • Inform the case team of progress during discovery operations and report on accomplished work, remaining tasks, estimated costs, and completion timetables.
  • Determine, document, and execute project planning, scheduling, and technical requirements.
  • Collaborate with the case team, client, Litigation Support, document review services, and vendors to define project budgets, goals, and objectives and develop plans for achieving these tasks.
  • Understand the substantive aspects of litigation and manage large e-discovery projects.
  • Take ownership of the process, shepherding the project through planning, collection, processing, review, and production.
  • Assist the case team in developing case facts, interviewing witnesses, and transferring information to the document review team.
  • Utilize Relativity and other review platforms effectively.

Requirements:

  • 2+ years of e-discovery experience.
  • Ideally, litigation experience as well.
  • Significant experience managing e-discovery projects.
  • Proficiency with Relativity and other review platforms.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the state bar.

Skills:

  • Strong project management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders.
  • Attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
  • Proficiency with e-discovery tools and platforms, particularly Relativity.
  • Ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines.
