A law firm in Houston, TX, seeks an experienced attorney to join its Projects team. This position offers a unique opportunity to work on complex and high-profile renewable energy and infrastructure sector projects. The ideal candidate will have expertise in construction, procurement, and project development, specifically in energy transition technologies such as renewable energy, energy storage, and power generation. Duties:

  • Advise clients on all aspects of project development, including procurement, construction, and operations.
  • Negotiate key agreements such as engineering, procurement, and construction contracts (EPC), operations and maintenance (O&M) agreements, and equipment procurement agreements.
  • Work on large-scale projects, particularly in renewable energy, energy storage, and power generation sectors.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver comprehensive legal support on complex projects.
  • Provide strategic advice on risk management, regulatory compliance, and contractual obligations throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Represent clients in disputes related to project development, construction, and procurement.

Requirements:

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development law.
  • Expertise in large infrastructure projects, with a focus on renewable energy, energy storage, and power generation preferred.
  • Proven ability to handle complex contract negotiations and legal strategies for large-scale projects.
  • Strong understanding of engineering, procurement, and construction agreements, as well as operations and maintenance agreements.
  • Ability to work effectively with internal teams and external clients to drive project success.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Strong academic credentials are required.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Bar in Texas or the ability to gain admission within a reasonable time frame.

Skills:

  • Strong negotiation and drafting skills for complex agreements.
  • Excellent legal research and writing abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
