A law firm in Dallas, TX, is seeking a Personal Injury and Construction Defect Litigation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have 3-5 years of experience in civil litigation, particularly in personal injury and construction defect defense. The role involves managing a docket of litigation files, drafting legal documents, conducting legal research, and handling all aspects of litigation, from discovery to trial. Responsibilities:

  • Handle personal injury and construction defect cases from inception through resolution.
  • Manage a docket of litigation files, including drafting motions, pleadings, memoranda, briefs, discovery demands, and responses.
  • Conduct legal research and analyze legal sources such as statutes, judicial decisions, legal articles, constitutions, and legal codes.
  • Prepare for and attend depositions, hearings, and trials.
  • Formulate legal strategy and manage active litigation docket.
  • Prepare legal briefs, pleadings, appeals, status reports, and other necessary legal documentation.
  • Communicate with courts, opposing parties, and clients to provide status reports and updates.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, paralegals, and legal assistants on civil litigation matters.
  • Appear in court for hearings and trials as necessary.
  • Work closely with other attorneys and team members on legal matters to ensure comprehensive legal support.
  • Travel as required for case matters.

Requirements:

  • JD degree from an accredited law school.
  • Licensed and in good standing to practice law in Texas.
  • 3-5 years of experience practicing law, preferably focusing on civil litigation, personal injury, and construction defect defense (candidates with less experience may be considered).
  • Previous work experience in civil litigation matters focusing on construction and/or personal injury defense.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills.
  • Experience in handling a large volume of cases in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines efficiently.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the Texas State Bar is mandatory.
