Job Overview: A legal recruiting firm is seeking an Associate Attorney on behalf of a prominent law firm specializing in creditors' rights. The position involves document review and case management in consumer debt-related litigation. This role is ideal for both experienced and newly licensed attorneys who are looking to gain significant courtroom and litigation experience while working in a fast-paced environment. The position is based in Dublin, OH.

Duties:

  • Review drafted pleadings for lawsuits, default judgments, and garnishments for accuracy and attorney e-signature.
  • Ensure compliance with client requirements through the completion of document checklists.
  • Identify and escalate areas of concern for problem resolution.
  • Draft new suit documents for additional debt types as required by clients.
  • Complete surveys regarding Ohio statutes, civil procedures, and small claims rules.
  • Provide directives to legal support staff to facilitate litigation processes.
  • Occasionally represent the firm in mediations, case management conferences, pre-trials, and trials.

Requirements:

  • Licensed to practice law in the State of Ohio.
  • Additional licenses in states such as MO, IA, NE, ID, CA, WA, OR, AK, HI, or NV are a plus.
  • Ability to appear in court consistently and on time, with a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills and ability to manage a high-volume caseload.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe PDF.
  • Willingness to travel as required, with reimbursement for firm-approved travel expenses.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Ohio. Additional state bar admissions are beneficial but not required.

  • Strong multi-tasking and organizational skills.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
