Associate Attorney - Insurance Coverage and Bad Faith Defense

A law firm seeks a skilled Associate Attorney to join its hybrid team in Seattle, Washington. This role is focused on insurance coverage and bad faith defense, catering to clients throughout the Pacific Northwest and beyond. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in legal analysis, writing, and litigation.

Duties

• Analyze insurance coverage issues and provide insightful opinions.
• Draft coverage opinions and related correspondence for clients.
• Represent clients throughout all phases of bad faith litigation, from initial intake to trial.
• Prepare and file pleadings, motions, and briefs as needed.
• Conduct depositions and represent clients at court hearings.
• Offer strategic legal advice regarding client rights and options.
• Participate in settlement negotiations and mediation processes.

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of legal experience, with at least 1 year focused on insurance coverage preferred.
• Strong research, writing, and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently while also collaborating effectively within a team.
• Active membership in good standing with the Washington State Bar.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Active Washington State Bar license.
