Plaintiff Appellate Attorney

Job Overview:
A law firm is seeking an experienced Plaintiff Appellate Attorney to join their Boca Raton, FL office. The ideal candidate will have a proven record in appellate advocacy, strong legal writing and research skills, and a passion for representing plaintiffs. This role involves handling appeals from trial courts to appellate courts, including drafting briefs, presenting oral arguments, and offering strategic guidance on legal matters. Additionally, the attorney will support trial attorneys during ongoing cases.

Location:

• Boca Raton, FL

Duties:

• Handle all aspects of appellate cases, including drafting briefs, oral arguments, and motions.
• Provide legal trial support to attorneys during trial proceedings.
• Review and collaborate with attorneys on filings related to legal motions such as summary judgment and post-judgment matters.
• Conduct comprehensive legal research and analyze complex legal issues.
• Collaborate with trial attorneys to develop and implement litigation and appellate strategies.
• Draft persuasive and well-reasoned legal briefs and memoranda.
• Present oral arguments before state and federal appellate courts.
• Stay informed on legal developments and changes in appellate law.
• Mentor and guide junior attorneys and legal staff.

Requirements:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the Florida Bar.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in appellate litigation, ideally on the plaintiff’s side.
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills.
• Demonstrated ability to manage multiple cases and meet deadlines.
• Excellent oral advocacy skills with experience presenting cases before appellate courts.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a collaborative team.
• Commitment to ethical legal practice and client advocacy.

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

• Active membership with the Florida Bar.
