Job Overview:
A reputable law firm in Amherst, NH, is currently seeking an Estate Planning and Probate Attorney to join its team. This position is open to both new and experienced attorneys, including those with a portable book of business. The firm handles a range of legal areas, including Estate Planning, Probate Administration, Trust Administration, and Business Transactions. This is a hybrid role with the majority of work based in Amherst, NH, though occasional travel to Massachusetts will be required. A strong support system is in place, with training available for newly licensed attorneys.

Duties:

  • Provide legal counsel on estate planning, probate, and trust administration matters.
  • Handle probate and trust administration processes, ensuring compliance with all state regulations.
  • Draft wills, trusts, and other estate planning documents.
  • Assist clients with business transactions and related legal concerns.
  • Manage a caseload effectively, ensuring timely delivery of legal services.
  • Represent clients in probate court and other legal proceedings as necessary.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop customized legal solutions to their estate planning needs.
  • Travel to Massachusetts as required for client meetings and court appearances.

Requirements:

  • Active membership in the Massachusetts and/or New Hampshire Bar is required.
  • For new attorneys, willingness to obtain waivers for Bar admissions in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire will be considered.
  • A portable book of business is a plus for experienced attorneys.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple cases simultaneously.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Bar License in Massachusetts and/or New Hampshire (Preferred).

Skills:

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and other legal software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Detail-oriented with the ability to manage complex legal documents and processes.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
