A law firm seeks a junior-level Real Estate Lending Associate to join its Charlotte office. This position offers an opportunity to collaborate with a diverse range of clients in the financial and real estate sectors, focusing on loan origination, asset-based lending, and real estate transactions.

Duties:

  • Represent financial institutions in matters related to real estate and asset-based lending, with an emphasis on loan origination.
  • Assist developers with transactions involving the purchase, sale, and financing of real estate and other collateral.
  • Draft, negotiate, and review loan agreements and related documents.
  • Conduct due diligence to identify and mitigate potential risks.
  • Collaborate with clients and internal teams to ensure timely and efficient transaction closings.

Requirements:

  • 2–3 years of experience in real estate lending or asset-based lending, with a focus on loan origination.
  • Familiarity with real estate transactions, including financing, purchasing, and selling properties.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication abilities.
  • Client-focused mindset with a commitment to providing exceptional service.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active membership in the New York or North Carolina State Bar is required.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of real estate and asset-based lending practices.
  • Attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team.
