A law firm in Miami, FL, is seeking an Insurance Coverage Associate Attorney with 3-5 years of experience representing policyholders or insurers, as well as litigation experience. The ideal candidate will possess excellent analytical and writing skills, be familiar with first- and third-party insurance policies, and demonstrate leadership and initiative. They should be comfortable working directly with clients and colleagues, have a strong academic record, and be focused on client service. The candidate should be licensed in the jurisdiction to which they are applying, or willing to obtain licensure within one year of joining the firm.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Represent clients in insurance coverage disputes involving first- and third-party insurance policies.
  • Analyze insurance policies and interpret coverage issues based on legal principles and case law.
  • Provide legal advice on coverage matters, including claims handling and policy interpretation.
  • Prepare and draft legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and settlement agreements.
  • Conduct research and analysis on insurance law and coverage issues.
  • Manage and litigate insurance coverage cases from inception through resolution.
  • Collaborate with clients and colleagues to develop effective legal strategies.
  • Participate in client meetings and provide exceptional client service.
  • Engage in pro bono work as needed and contribute to the firm's community service efforts.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience in insurance coverage law, representing policyholders or insurers.
  • Litigation experience is required.
  • Familiarity with first- and third-party insurance policies and principles of policy interpretation.
  • Excellent analytical and writing skills.
  • Demonstrated leadership and initiative.
  • Ability to work directly with clients and colleagues.
  • Strong academic record.
  • Willingness to work on pro bono matters.
  • Licensed to practice law in the jurisdiction, or willing to obtain licensure within one year of joining the firm.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the state bar in Florida is preferred, or must be obtained within one year of joining the firm.
