A law firm in Saint Louis, MO, is seeking a skilled Project Development Associate Attorney with 3-6 years of experience in construction, procurement, and project development. The ideal candidate will have a background in project development within the renewable energy or oil & gas sectors, or extensive construction experience, particularly with large-scale infrastructure projects.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of renewable and conventional energy projects, including wind, solar, LNG, and nuclear.
  • Oversee engineering, procurement, and construction agreements, equipment procurement agreements, and other development contracts.
  • Negotiate and draft engineering, procurement, and construction agreements (EPC), operations and maintenance agreements (O&M), and equipment procurement agreements.
  • Stay updated on industry trends and changes in project development and finance law.
  • Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients and colleagues in various specialty areas such as tax, regulatory, and real estate.
  • Represent clients in the renewable energy market, handling project development (including offtake, procurement, and construction) and project finance specific transactions.
  • Work on high-profile projects in renewable energy, energy storage, and power generation technologies.

Requirements:

  • JD from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the Missouri Bar or eligibility for admission via reciprocity.
  • 3-6 years of experience in project development, construction law, or related fields.
  • Experience negotiating and drafting EPC, O&M, and equipment procurement agreements.
  • Familiarity with renewable energy project finance is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and negotiation skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
