Job Description:

Duties:

  • Advise clients on privacy and data security matters, including compliance with federal, state, and international laws.
  • Manage privacy and data security risks associated with collecting, using, and disclosing personal information.
  • Develop and implement privacy policies and procedures.
  • Conduct privacy impact assessments and data protection audits.
  • Assist clients in responding to data breaches and other security incidents.
  • Provide training to clients on best practices for privacy and data security.
  • Draft and negotiate data protection agreements and related contracts.
  • Stay current on developments in privacy and data protection laws and regulations.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys and professionals within the firm to provide comprehensive legal services to clients.

Requirements:

  • 3-5 years of experience managing privacy and data security risks.
  • Significant knowledge and experience with federal, state, and international privacy laws.
  • Strong academic credentials.
  • Excellent analytical and communication skills.
  • Active CO, MN, NY, or PA license is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Active license to practice law in the United States.
  • Certification in privacy law (CIPP/US, CIPP/E, CIPM, or similar) is a plus.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of privacy and data security laws and regulations.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
