Entry-Level Criminal Defense Attorney

Location:

Duties:

• Advise clients on legal rights and obligations, and prepare legal documents related to their cases.
• Attend pretrial hearings on behalf of clients and provide strategic counsel based on hearings and case developments.
• Manage court appearances, trials, drafting motions, interviewing witnesses, and conducting legal research.
• Analyze case outcomes using knowledge of legal precedents and applicable laws.
• Provide clients with legal analysis and strategies for potential case benefits.
• Gather and present evidence to support the client’s case or challenge the prosecution’s charges.
• Prepare clients for depositions, collaborate with experts, and establish the goals and strategies of the case.

Requirements:

• Demonstrated interest in Criminal Defense law through law school clinics, volunteer work, or internship experience.
• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Ability to manage a caseload and move cases forward effectively.
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
• Experience with case management software preferred.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus, but not required.

Education:

• Juris Doctorate (JD) degree.

Certifications:

• Admission to the California State Bar.

Skills:
