Insurance Defense Attorney

A law firm seeks an experienced Insurance Defense Attorney with expertise in Personal Injury Defense to join its New Orleans, LA office. This role involves representing insurance companies and corporate clients in personal injury claims and handling cases from inception to resolution. The ideal candidate will manage a diverse caseload, provide strategic legal guidance, and work independently while meeting billable hour requirements. Duties

• Represent insurance companies and corporate clients in personal injury defense cases.
• Conduct legal research, prepare pleadings, and draft motions.
• Attend depositions, mediations, hearings, and trials.
• Prepare detailed, timely client reports outlining case progress and strategic direction.
• Collaborate with clients to develop case strategies and provide legal counsel.
• Independently manage a full caseload, meeting all deadlines and billable hour requirements.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with clients and colleagues.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
• Admission to the Louisiana Bar.
• 3-5 years of experience in insurance defense and personal injury litigation.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Proven ability to handle a fast-paced environment and manage deadlines effectively.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to manage cases independently with minimal supervision.

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications

• Licensed to practice law in the state of Louisiana.
