Job Overview: A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, seeks an Entry-Level Immigration Attorney to join their team. This role involves representing clients in immigration matters, managing caseloads, and developing strategies for various immigration cases. The ideal candidate will have up to 3 years of immigration law experience, be bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred, and demonstrate exceptional interpersonal skills.

Duties:

  • Explain immigration concepts and present strategic solutions to clients.
  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals.
  • Manage a workload of diverse immigration cases efficiently.
  • Visit and conduct intakes with detained individuals at detention centers.
  • Prepare and review immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based petitions.
  • Make necessary adjustments to immigration applications/packets.
  • Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations on changes in immigration law.
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic immigration consultations and determine necessary legal strategies.
  • Develop strategy and prepare clients and witnesses for court/USCIS testimony.
  • Provide legal analysis to determine potential benefits for clients' cases.
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs for a range of immigration cases.

Requirements:

  • 0-3 years of immigration law experience.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively with team members.
  • Proven record of advancing legal cases and managing a caseload.
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian, EOIR, Detained, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications.
  • Familiarity with Case Management Software preferred.

Education and Certifications:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.
  • Admission to the bar in California.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of immigration law and procedures.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
