Job Overview:

A law firm seeks a Managing Attorney to lead its family law practice in Dallas, TX. Duties:

  • Oversee the daily operations, productivity, and profitability of the Dallas office, ensuring billable hours and work product goals are met.
  • Mentor and guide a team of attorneys and paralegals, providing motivation and one-on-one support.
  • Collaborate with Talent Acquisition and HR to recruit attorneys and staff while ensuring compliance with firm policies.
  • Conduct initial consultations with prospective clients, advise on family law matters, and retain new clients.
  • Prepare legal documents, represent clients in court, and manage case-related proceedings.
  • Collaborate with other Managing Attorneys and department leaders to ensure the Dallas team receives the necessary support.
  • Negotiate settlements and work closely with colleagues across legal specialties to verify legal strategies and bases for proceedings.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree and active license in good standing with the Texas State Bar.
  • A minimum of 7 years of legal experience, with a focus on family law.
  • Proven experience leading a legal team, mentoring attorneys, and managing office operations.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to handle a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment while maintaining attention to detail.
  • Collaborative and team-oriented with strong leadership and organizational skills.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the Texas State Bar.

Skills:

  • Excellent leadership and team management abilities.
  • Strong family law expertise, including litigation and client consultation.
  • Proficient in drafting legal documents and negotiating settlements.
