A law firm in Bridgeport, CT, is seeking a Personal Injury Litigation Attorney to manage negligence cases from inception through trial, primarily representing plaintiffs.

 

Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of personal injury cases, primarily negligence claims
  • Conduct legal research and draft pleadings, motions, and discovery documents
  • Represent clients in negotiations, mediations, arbitrations, and trials
  • Prepare and respond to written discovery requests
  • Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
  • Evaluate liability and damages issues to develop case strategies
  • Communicate regularly with clients, providing updates and responding to inquiries
  • Collaborate with paralegals, legal assistants, and support staff on case management
  • Attend court hearings and argue motions as necessary
  • Handle settlement negotiations and agreements

 

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Licensed to practice law in Connecticut or eligible for admission by waiver
  • 3-5 years of experience in personal injury litigation, with significant trial experience
  • Proven track record of successfully managing personal injury cases from start to finish

 

Certifications:

Certification in Civil Trial Advocacy by the National Board of Trial Advocacy (preferred)
