A law firm seeks a driven and experienced Civil Litigation Attorney to join its Grand Rapids, MI office. The successful candidate will have a minimum of three years of civil litigation experience and will assist with an active trial docket while contributing to the growth of the practice. This firm focuses on municipal law, insurance defense litigation, employment and labor law, and general litigation.

Duties:

  • Manage civil litigation cases from inception to trial, ensuring thorough preparation of pleadings, motions, and briefs.
  • Oversee discovery processes, including managing documentation and taking depositions.
  • Conduct comprehensive legal research and analysis to support case strategies.
  • Collaborate with team members to develop effective legal arguments and strategies.
  • Maintain high-quality client service while professionally handling multiple priorities.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-approved law school with strong academic credentials.
  • Active membership and good standing with the Michigan Bar.
  • Minimum of three years of hands-on civil litigation experience.
  • Proven ability to manage cases through all phases of litigation, including trial preparation.
  • Public entity defense experience is preferred but not mandatory.

Education:

  • JD from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

  • Active Michigan Bar admission in good standing.
