Job Overview: A prestigious law firm in Orange, CA is seeking a dedicated Senior Associate Immigration Attorney to join its dynamic team. This is a promising opportunity for an experienced attorney to manage a diverse caseload, interact with clients, and collaborate with an experienced team of immigration professionals. The ideal candidate will have significant experience in immigration law, a passion for client advocacy, and the ability to handle complex cases in both removal defense and family-based immigration.

Location:

  • Orange, CA

Duties:

  • Represent non-detained and detained individuals in removal proceedings before the Immigration Court and Board of Immigration Appeals
  • Manage a diverse caseload of immigration cases, ensuring timely and efficient handling
  • Conduct intake and represent detained individuals at immigration detention centers
  • Prepare and review various immigration applications, including removal defense and family-based immigration petitions
  • Provide strategic legal analysis and counsel to clients, including preparing clients and witnesses for court or USCIS testimony
  • Work closely with law enforcement, prosecutorial offices, and community-based organizations regarding changes in immigration law
  • Meet with potential clients for strategic consultations and determine the best course of action for their cases
  • Prepare and submit legal briefs and motions for various immigration-related cases
  • Stay current with developments in immigration law and apply new changes effectively

Requirements:

  • 5-8 years of experience in immigration law
  • Proven track record of managing and advancing immigration cases
  • Strong ability to handle a high-volume caseload with efficiency and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and a team-oriented mindset
  • Experience with Family-Based Petitions, Humanitarian Relief, EOIR, Detained Cases, Citizenship, and other USCIS applications
  • Ability to develop legal strategies and provide in-depth legal analysis for clients
  • Experience using case management software preferred
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active Bar membership in California

Skills:

  • Expertise in immigration law, including removal defense and family-based petitions
  • Strong communication, negotiation, and client management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a team of legal professionals
  • Exceptional legal research, writing, and briefing abilities
  • Organizational skills and ability to manage multiple cases effectively
  • Knowledge of case management software and other legal tools
