Job Overview:
A respected law firm based in Pleasant Hill, California, is seeking a dynamic and experienced attorney with a background in litigation related to trusts, estates, and conservatorships. This is a full-time, exempt position that offers the opportunity to work alongside seasoned legal professionals in a collaborative and growth-oriented environment. The ideal candidate is a skilled advocate with a deep interest in probate and fiduciary disputes, excellent writing ability, and a desire to continually improve their craft through mentorship and meaningful casework.

Duties:

• Advocate on behalf of clients in trust and estate litigation matters, including contested wills, fiduciary disputes, and conservatorship actions

• Handle all stages of litigation: strategy development, discovery, depositions, trial preparation, and courtroom representation

• Collaborate with clients, beneficiaries, fiduciaries, and financial professionals to navigate complex probate and inheritance conflicts

• Draft motions, pleadings, discovery, and appellate filings with a focus on precision and persuasive writing

• Participate in mediation and settlement negotiations with a focus on client-centered outcomes

• Maintain up-to-date knowledge of probate, conservatorship, and elder law developments

• Work closely with firm leadership and receive personalized guidance and mentorship

Requirements:

• Active membership in good standing with the State Bar of California

• 3-7 years of litigation experience with a focus or strong interest in trust, probate, and conservatorship law

• Demonstrated ability to manage competing priorities and multiple case files

• Prior experience with trial preparation and courtroom procedure

• Proficient with legal research tools and litigation support software

• Ability to interact with clients and stakeholders with empathy and professionalism

• Spanish language proficiency is a strong plus

Education:

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school

Certifications:

• California Bar license (active and in good standing)

Skills:

• Strong writing and legal analysis capabilities

• Confident oral advocacy and public speaking skills

• Skilled in negotiation and alternative dispute resolution

• Detail-oriented with excellent organizational habits

• Team player with a collaborative and positive approach to legal work
