Job Overview

An internationally recognized law firm is seeking a mid-level associate to join its Antitrust practice group in the Bay Area. This position offers the opportunity to work on a wide range of antitrust matters, including pre-merger notification (Hart-Scott-Rodino Act compliance), civil litigation, and criminal antitrust investigations. The role is suited for a candidate with a strong legal background, proven antitrust experience, and a desire to handle both complex litigation and regulatory matters.

Duties

  • Advise clients on pre-merger notification requirements and filings

  • Represent clients in civil and criminal antitrust investigations and litigation

  • Prepare legal documents including motions, briefs, and memoranda

  • Assist in strategy development and execution for merger reviews and enforcement actions

  • Collaborate with regulatory bodies including the DOJ and FTC

  • Conduct legal research and analysis related to antitrust laws and compliance

Requirements

  • 3–5 years of relevant experience in antitrust law

  • Demonstrated experience with HSR filings and merger control issues

  • Exposure to civil litigation and/or criminal antitrust matters

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  • Ability to manage multiple matters and deadlines independently

Education

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school

  • Strong academic performance

Certifications

  • Admission to the California State Bar

Skills

  • In-depth understanding of U.S. antitrust laws and merger review processes

  • Strong legal writing and analytical capabilities

  • Experience interacting with government enforcement agencies
