General Liability (Maritime) Associate Attorney

Job Overview:
A well-established law firm is seeking an experienced Associate Attorney for its General Liability practice group, specializing in Maritime law. This role is available across multiple locations in Florida and requires candidates with a solid background in relevant practice areas, coupled with exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.

Location: Jacksonville, FL

Duties:

• Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of claims
• Perform extensive legal research and draft briefs, memos, and pleadings
• Meet annual billable requirement of 1950 hours
• Represent clients in court, arbitrations, and depositions
• Draft and respond to discovery requests
• Collaborate on expert witness retention
• Prepare for and attend trials
• Some travel may be required

Requirements:

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in General Liability, with a focus on Maritime law
• J.D. from an ABA-approved law school
• Admitted to practice in Florida; additional state admissions are a plus
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Excellent research and communication abilities
• Strong work ethic and self-management skills
• Timely response to emails and phone inquiries
• Exceptional client interaction skills

Education:

• Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an ABA-accredited institution

Certifications:

• Active law license in Florida
