Senior Immigration Attorney

A respected immigration law firm in Sacramento, California, is seeking a Senior Immigration Attorney to join its expanding legal team. Duties

• Represent detained and non-detained individuals in removal proceedings before Immigration Court and the Board of Immigration Appeals

• Conduct legal intakes and client visits at detention centers

• Explain immigration processes and provide legal strategy consultations

• Prepare and file a wide range of immigration applications, including family-based petitions and removal defense

• Review and revise immigration applications and supporting documentation

• Develop legal strategy and prepare clients and witnesses for court appearances and USCIS interviews

• Submit detailed legal briefs and documentation for a variety of immigration cases

• Collaborate with law enforcement, prosecutorial agencies, and community organizations on immigration issues

• Meet with prospective clients to assess case eligibility and legal options

• Maintain and manage an active caseload, ensuring timely filings and client updates

Requirements

• Minimum of 3 years of experience practicing immigration law

• Demonstrated success in managing removal defense and USCIS-based cases

• Collaborative attitude with a willingness to assist and strategize with fellow attorneys

• Track record of effectively progressing legal cases and maintaining a strong caseload

• Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred but not required

• Experience using legal case management software (preferred)

Education

• Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications

• Active license to practice law in the United States
