Job Overview:
A leading law firm in Miami, FL is seeking a First Party Property Associate Attorney with a focus on General Liability defense. This role is ideal for experienced attorneys licensed in Florida, who have 3-10 years of experience in defending against Medical Malpractice and Assisted Living/Long Term Care cases. The ideal candidate will play a key role in representing clients through all stages of litigation, including trials and appeals.

Duties:

  • Represent clients in court appearances, depositions, and hearings.
  • Review and prepare detailed summaries of medical records and case documents.
  • Draft and file motions, discovery responses, and other legal documents.
  • Provide strategic advice to clients, preparing them for depositions and trials.
  • Handle all aspects of litigation, including mediation, arbitration, and appeals.
  • Conduct and defend depositions of fact and expert witnesses.
  • Collaborate with clients to develop defense strategies tailored to their specific needs.

Requirements:

  • Must be admitted to practice law in the State of Florida.
  • 3-10 years of experience in General Liability, Medical Malpractice, or Assisted Living/Long Term Care defense.
  • Proven ability to handle complex legal cases with strong attention to detail.
  • Experience in drafting and responding to discovery-related motions.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills for effective court representation.
  • Ability to conduct and defend witness depositions, both fact-based and expert.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Florida.
