A law firm seeks an experienced Immigration Attorney to join its team as an Associate focused on Consular Processing. This is a fantastic opportunity for an attorney looking to expand their immigration law expertise, particularly in consular processing and waivers. As an integral part of the team, you will manage a diverse caseload of consular processing matters, engage with clients directly, and collaborate with a dedicated group of legal professionals. Duties:

  • Manage a caseload of consular processing and waiver cases, including I-130, I-601A, I-212, I-601, and K-Visa petitions.
  • Prepare clients for their consular interviews and guide the process.
  • Represent clients in proceedings before the U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS).
  • Review and ensure the accuracy of immigration applications and supporting documents.
  • Supervise and collaborate with paralegals to ensure that productivity goals and client expectations are met.
  • Provide legal analysis to clients, identifying potential case benefits and solutions.
  • Draft and submit legal briefs for various immigration-related cases.
  • Work closely with other attorneys and legal staff to strategize and provide high-quality legal services.

Requirements:

  • 1 to 4 years of experience practicing immigration law, with a focus on consular processing and waivers.
  • Proven ability to manage a caseload and move legal cases forward efficiently.
  • Strong collaboration skills, with a willingness to work as part of a team.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish is preferred, but not required.
  • Experience with consular processing applications, including waivers (I-601, I-212) and K-Visa cases.
  • Familiarity with immigration case management software is preferred.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Licensed to practice law in Texas.

Skills:

  • Strong understanding of immigration law, particularly consular processing and waiver applications.
  • Excellent communication and client interaction skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple cases and deadlines effectively.
  • Attention to detail in reviewing legal documents and applications.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • Proficiency with case management software and related tools.
