A law firm in Los Angeles, CA, is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Real Estate Finance and Nonprofit Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in real estate and finance transactions, with additional experience in tax-exempt bonds, energy tax credits, low-income housing tax credits, and public-private partnerships being highly desirable. This position requires a California Bar license and proficiency in cloud-based programs, Word, and Excel.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Advise clients on complex real estate and finance transactions, including tax-exempt bonds, energy tax credits, and low-income housing tax credits.
  • Provide legal counsel on public-private partnerships and other finance structures relevant to real estate and nonprofit sectors.
  • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of legal documents, including contracts, leases, and financing agreements.
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations related to real estate finance and nonprofit organizations.
  • Represent clients in negotiations and transactions, including acquisitions, dispositions, and financing of real estate projects.
  • Conduct due diligence and manage legal risks associated with real estate investments and nonprofit operations.
  • Collaborate with other attorneys, clients, and stakeholders to achieve optimal outcomes in complex transactions.
  • Stay updated on relevant laws, regulations, and industry trends affecting real estate finance and nonprofit sectors.
  • Handle client communications and provide strategic legal advice to support business and organizational objectives.

Requirements:

  • 5-10 years of experience in real estate finance and transactions, with a strong background in nonprofit law preferred.
  • Solid foundation in tax-exempt bonds, energy tax credits, low-income housing tax credits, and public-private partnerships.
  • California Bar admission is required.
  • Proficiency with cloud-based programs, Microsoft Word, and Excel.
  • Exceptional analytical, research, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate effectively and build strong client relationships.
  • Proven ability to handle multiple complex projects simultaneously and work independently.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.

Certifications:

  • Admission to the California Bar.
