A law firm is seeking an Associate Bankruptcy Attorney to join their team remotely. This role involves handling a high-volume caseload related to bankruptcy matters, particularly representing secured creditors. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with telephonic and in-person court hearings and will demonstrate strong written, analytical, and oral advocacy skills.

Location:

  • San Diego, CA 

Duties:

  • Review and execute various bankruptcy documents, including Payment Change Notices, Post-Petition Fee Notices, Transfers of Claim, and Proofs of Claim
  • Conduct Chapter 13 Plan Reviews and manage related filings
  • Prepare and file motions, such as Motions for Relief from the Automatic Stay and Objections to Chapter 13 Plans
  • Represent clients in court hearings, both telephonically and in-person as needed
  • Manage a high-volume caseload, ensuring timely and accurate case handling
  • Address escalated and time-sensitive matters as they arise
  • Participate in additional projects and duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school
  • Admission to practice law in California; multi-jurisdiction admission is advantageous
  • Experience with bankruptcy or mortgage servicing is preferred but not required
  • Experience with Chapter 11 cases and adversary proceedings is a plus

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • Active bar membership in good standing in California

Skills:

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Proficient in legal research and using tools such as Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to handle a large caseload and prioritize effectively
  • Strong problem-solving, organizational, and analytical skills
  • Adaptable and able to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
