Workers' Compensation Attorney (Hybrid)

Job Overview:
A prestigious law firm in Culver City, CA, is seeking an experienced Workers' Compensation Attorney to join its team. The ideal candidate will possess at least 3 years of expertise in handling California Workers’ Compensation cases. This hybrid position offers the opportunity to manage a diverse range of legal matters, including depositions, litigation, settlement negotiations, and more. Candidates should be comfortable handling cases from start to finish while keeping abreast of changes in workers' compensation law.

Duties:

  • Manage and litigate Workers' Compensation cases before the Workers' Compensation Appeals Board (WCAB)
  • Take depositions of claimants, physicians, medical experts, and other parties involved
  • Draft and prepare legal documents such as pleadings, motions, briefs, opinions, and findings of fact
  • Negotiate settlements and represent clients in pre-trial conferences and hearings
  • Stay current with developments and changes in California Workers' Compensation law
  • Provide strong legal counsel and support to clients throughout the process
  • Collaborate with the legal team and manage case strategy and deadlines
  • Exercise critical thinking, negotiation, and public speaking skills in all aspects of case management

Requirements:

  • At least 3 years of experience in California Workers’ Compensation law
  • Proven ability to handle depositions, settlement negotiations, and litigation independently
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to manage cases from inception through to resolution
  • Excellent negotiation, research, and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to adapt to changing legal landscapes and maintain attention to detail
  • A deep understanding of California Workers' Compensation regulations and procedures

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school

Certifications:

  • An active member of the California State Bar

  • Strong legal research and writing abilities
  • Expertise in Workers' Compensation law
