A law firm in Framingham, MA, is seeking a Workers' Compensation Associate Attorney to join their team. The ideal candidate will possess strong writing, research, and litigation skills and be licensed to practice in Connecticut. The role involves comprehensive management of workers' compensation claims, including legal analysis, client representation, and trial preparation. Duties:

  • Conduct file reviews and legal analysis of workers' compensation claims and causes of action.
  • Perform extensive legal research and draft substantial legal documents, including briefs, memos, pleadings, and appellate briefs.
  • Represent clients regularly in court, at arbitrations, and during depositions.
  • Draft and respond to discovery requests.
  • Manage expert witness retention and collaboration.
  • Prepare for and attend trials, formulating strategies and presenting evidence.
  • Meet an annual billable hour requirement of 1950 hours.
  • Handle some travel as needed.
  • Provide timely responses to client and colleague communications via email and phone.

Requirements:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.
  • Licensed to practice in the state of Connecticut; admission in Massachusetts is a plus.
  • Minimum of 2+ years of experience in workers' compensation law.
  • Exceptional writing, research, and litigation skills.
  • Superior analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong research abilities and effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Ability to manage a high caseload and meet billable hour targets.
  • Demonstrated strong work ethic and ability to work independently and in a team environment.
  • Excellent client interaction skills and professional telephone manner.

Education:

  • Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an ABA-approved law school.

Certifications:

  • Admitted to practice law in Connecticut; Massachusetts admission is advantageous.
